href=\"https:\/\/www.uninsubria.eu\/lauream\/course\/biotechnology\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Biotechnology<\/span><\/a><\/h5>\n<p>By studying biotechnology, students will\u00a0<strong>learn how to use biological systems for the production of goods and services<\/strong>, for example to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>improve human, animal and plant health<\/strong> through the discovery of new drugs, nutraceuticals, vaccines and diagnostic methods;<\/li>\n<li><strong>protect the environment<\/strong>\u00a0by developing bio-sustainable and environmentally friendly industrial processes;<\/li>\n<li><strong>satisfy the demand for energy<\/strong> by using biomasses as a renewable source.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The degree programme has\u00a0<strong>two different streams<\/strong>: <em><strong>Molecular Biotechnology<\/strong><\/em> and <strong><em>Medical Biotechnology<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uninsubria.eu\/lauream\/course\/biological-sciences\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Biological sciences<\/span><\/a><\/h5>\n<p>This degree programme will allow you to gain a<strong> solid grounding in the different fields of biology<\/strong> and to become familiar with the\u00a0<strong>methods, theories and new technologies<\/strong>\u00a0applicable in different fields of research and production.<\/p>\n<p>Students will choose between <strong>two different streams<\/strong>\u00a0that provide specialised training:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>the<strong> biomedical curriculum<\/strong>\u00a0aims at understanding biological issues relating to human health;<\/li>\n<li>the<strong> cells and organisms curriculum<\/strong>\u00a0focuses on studying fundamental cellular processes, also from an evolutionary standpoint.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Master of Science degrees<\/span><\/h3>\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uninsubria.eu\/lauream\/course\/biomedical-sciences\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Biomedical Sciences<\/span><\/a><\/h5>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>multidisciplinary approach<\/strong>, including molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, pharmacology, physiology and pathology, and the\u00a0<strong>close connection with research activities of excellence<\/strong>, combined with <strong>particular attention to the needs of the single students<\/strong>, are the strengths of this style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.uninsubria.eu\/lauream\/course\/biotechnology-bio-based-and-health-industry\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BIOTECHNOLOGY FOR THE BIO-BASED AND HEALTH INDUSTRY<\/a><\/h5>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The professional figure formed by the Degree Course possesses the\u00a0<strong>know-how\u00a0<\/strong>for the exploitation of organisms, cells or biomolecules to produce bio-goods (innovative drugs, nutraceuticals, bioplastics, novel renewable energy sources) and bio-services (sustainable industrial processes, innovative agriculture practices, bioremediation and circular economy processes)\u00a0<strong>with the ultimate goal to improve the human and animal welfare and the environmental quality<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>An <strong>international and up-to-date preparation<\/strong>, highly appreciated by the employment market, is reached through\u00a0<strong>several collaborations <\/strong>with<strong> Italian and foreign research groups<\/strong>, the\u00a0<strong>Erasmus+ <\/strong>and the<strong> Double Degree\u00a0<\/strong>programs.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">PhD programs<\/h2>\n\n\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uninsubria.eu\/post_lauream\/course\/life-sciences-and-biotechnology-2022-2023\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Life Science and Biotechnology<\/span><\/a><\/h5>\n<p>This PhD program represents an educational and research proposal of \u201cinnovative courses\u201d based on an interdisciplinary approach to the issues related to life sciences.
